If you look up the definition of partners you will find many different ones but the most common one is a person who takes part in an undertaking with another or others, especially in a business or company with shared risks and profits. The word partner means different things to different people and quite frankly, I think it’s misused by many. Well to us, it can be much more than the definition found on the internet. I’ve written several posts about how active so many of our partners have been over the last 16 months. Whether they come spend a week at the ranch, go on catch jobs or provide ideas for how we could do something in the business, its very clear how much fun they have being a part of WildLife Partners.
This was proven again, in a different way, last week. My wife and I were invited to come visit two of our partners in New York and Ohio. The trip was amazing and the friendships that have been built go WAY beyond partners. These people, along with many others will be friends for life and I am incredibly thankful for this and all of the other blessings we have received.
Here are a few pictures from the trip.
The Roan Antelope is a favorite of many and is extremely rare in Texas. Because no one has been willing to sell them, it has taken us more than 5 years to find some females to breed with our males. This painstaking effort was finally rewarded when we found a small herd outside of Texas. These majestic animals are part of our 3rd Breeding Partnership and were delivered to the ranch a couple of months ago. Sunday, came the day we had been waiting on….our first baby Roan was born. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
One of the things we never truly appreciated when we start WildLife Partners was just how involved our partners would want to be in this amazing venture. Well, over the last 15+ months, we’ve had more than 200 visits to the ranches. We’ve also had numerous capture trips where partners have not only come along but been a direct part of capturing the animals. Here are a few pictures of some recent visits and yes there was quite bit of fun that was had at both locations as you will see.
We’ve been very busy over the last several weeks preparing to stock the animals for our 3rd partnership. Today we were in SE Texas on a catch job. Having already caught numerous animals at this location, we knew we had to get creative due to the extremely thick cover on this ranch. We had guys on horseback that helped drive the animals out of the brush enabling us to catch them. Today we caught Kudu, Chinese White Lipped Deer, Gemsbok and Waterbuck. Over the last few weeks, we’ve also caught Nubian Ibex, Bison, Axis Deer, Sable, Nile Lechwe, Blackbuck, Red Lechwe, Fallow Deer and Water Buffalo.
Here are a few pictures of some recent catch jobs.
Yesterday we had conference calls with all of our Conservation Partners from our first two partnerships. We shared everything we have accomplished over the last year as well as where things are heading. Our partners get to have fun, be part of a great conversation story and make money all at the same time. It’s safe to say there isn’t anything else in the world we would rather be doing.
Here are some more pictures taken by Dan Verrips yesterday at our Mountain Home facility. Amazing work, as usual.
It’s really been awesome over the last 2 months at both of our breeding facilities. We’ve had numerous visitors that were all treated to some amazing wildlife viewing because there are babies literally everywhere. There are very few areas that don’t have a brand new baby walking around today. Over the last 60 days, we’ve had nearly 100 new babies born across numerous species including Cape Buffalo, Kudu, Sable, Black Wildebeest, Blesbok, Grant’s Gazelle, Thompson Gazelle, Dama Gazelle, Himalayan Tahr, Impala, Transcaspian Urial, Markhor, Nyala, Nubian Ibex, Scimitar, Arabian Oryx and Addax.
We just started selling offspring from our 1st Partnership and plan to make distributions at the end of June.
Here are some recent pictures from our breeding facility near Kenedy, TX. Thanks again to Dan Verrips for his amazing work.
Most people know the investment side of WildLife Partners but not the animal sales and purchase side. Over the last year we have done business with nearly 150 different ranches and that number continues to grow each and every week. Why? Because we have developed a product/service that helps ranch owners justify their ranch as a business by selling exotic wildlife. Our stock then buy program does just that. We stock the ranch with various species then come back and buy all of the offspring the ranch produces. The revenue produced from these sales helps the owners produce income while also giving them the ability to write off many expenses related to the ranch.
Despite all these new ranches joining the exotic wildlife industry, there is a finite number of animals in the State of Texas and with an ever-growing demand it requires getting creative to find new ranches to work with. Our crew is the best in the industry and the results speak for themselves. In April alone, we sold more than $550,000 worth of animals to ranches across Texas and each and everyone of those had to be captured on another ranch.
Here are some great action shots from some of the recent catch jobs.
Wow! It has been one heck of a start to the Spring at the WildLife Partners’ breeding facilities. Over the last 45 days, we have welcomed more than 40 new offspring into the world from 13 species. We’ve got new babies from the following species: Nubian Ibex, Addax, Kudu, Hog Deer, Pere David, Sable, Transcaspian Urial, Cape Buffalo, Markhor, Nyala, Scimitar and Arabian Oryx. We are expecting an enormous amount of new babies over the next 3-4 months.
The highlight of these pictures is definitely the baby Cape Buffalo. WildLife Partners is one of only 3 ranches in Texas to own Cape Buffalo and this is our 2nd baby girl.
I really need to thank our photographer, Dan Verrips, for more amazing pictures. Enjoy!
