Kotsi is the South African word for Danger and nothing says that more than the majestic Cape Buffalo. WildLife Partners is proud to announce the arrival of our Cape Buffalo. Last week, our initial stock were put in their new home on the WildLife Partners ranch in Mountain Home. These Cape Buffalo are part of our 1st Partnership and we couldn’t be more excited. We are one of only three ranches in Texas that have these incredible animals. Their size and demeanor just scream Kotsi! Pictured below is one of our mature cows who should be calving some time soon.
My name is Brian Gilroy and I am the Director of Ranch Operations at WildLife Partners. I still can’t believe that we are getting to do this!!!! Every day that I wake up and walk outside to build this partnership, I am reminded of just how fortunate I am. If you have not been here to visit the ranch I highly encourage you to do so. What we are building is nothing short of remarkable and I fully expect that we will achieve the goals that we have set out to accomplish.
Since April 8th, when we made our first acquisition of 50 Scimitar Horned Oryx, we have taken this industry by storm. Our name has been the talk of the Exotic Wildlife business throughout the state. We have developed outstanding relationships with ranchers and have caused virtually all of our competition to feel a serious strain on the methods they have used for so long. WildLife Partners is spearheading some very serious and monumental changes within this sector and we will continue to do so as the result of your support.
Over the last three months we have purchased 32 different species including Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Warthogs, Red River Hogs, Markhor, Addax, Kudu, Sambar, Sable Antelope, Black Wildebeest and many many more. Currently we have 419 animals that we own as part of our initial stock. We have had approximately 30 babies and will have many more in the very near future. We are roughly 90% of the way to having all of the stock purchased for the 1st partnership. I expect the balance to be in place within 30 days.
To put this in perspective, in the last 90 days here are a few things that we have accomplished. We have hired a staff of 18 people at the ranch. They have manually cleared 270 acres of all dead cedar, moved and crushed mountains of rock and have constructed roads throughout the property. We have erected roughly 4 miles of fence (two more to go), constructed a 10,000 square foot barn and installed two miles of pipe for water troughs. The electricity to the barn should be on within a couple weeks and our online camera system will be activated at that time. Our 4 salesman have driven a combined 75,000 miles building relationships with ranchers. They have captured almost 600 head of game and logged over 100 hours of helicopter time. We are putting in 60-70 hour weeks to build this partnership and achieve what we set out to build. I can honestly say that nothing I have accomplished throughout my career has been more rewarding that what we are doing with this business.

A day at the WildLife Partners ranch is like living a dream. Being able to drive around seeing things like this on a daily basis, while also knowing it’s a great way to make money, is simply priceless. The last few weeks have been incredible. Not only have we picked up a tremendous inventory of animals but we’ve had babies being born all over the ranch. In the last 3 weeks, we’ve welcomed at least 30 newborn members into the WildLife Partners family including baby Blesbok, Black Wildebeest, Impala, Pere David, Red Lechwe, Addax and numerous Axis deer. Over the next month, Brian Gilroy – WildLife Partners Director of Ranch Operations, expect those numbers to go up significantly. Having all of these offspring so early into our 1st partnership’s breeding agreement gives us the potential for cash distributions much earlier than originally forecast.
In addition to the activities with the animals, we’ve had numerous visitors to the ranch recently. Just last week, we had visitors from Pennsylvania, New York, Washington and Missouri. Not only did they all get an extensive tour of the ranch, its facilities and livestock with Brian Gilroy and Chris Gilroy but they also each got to feed Susie our resident female giraffe. Susie tends to pose for some great pictures! We’re hopeful we will have our first giraffe baby in October or November.

A quick update from Brian Gilroy and the WildLife Partners ranch staff.
To say its been busy over the last week at the WildLife Partners ranch would be a huge understatement. There have been babies being born on what seems like a daily basis including a White Beared Wildebeest, a Blesbok and an Impala just to name a few. We have also managed to aqcuire some very rare and high demand animals including but not limited to: Sable, Pere David, Kudu, Gemsbok, Transcaspian Urial, Addax, Dama Gazelle, Fallow Deer, Grant Gazelle, Nile Lechwe, Himalayan Tahr, Thompson Gazelle, Impala and White Bearded Wildbeest. Additionally, we have capture trips lined up for nearly every day over the 2 weeks.
WildLife Partners is extremely excited to introduce Game Changer. Game Changer is WildLife Partners’ new breeder Kudu Bull, but he’s no ordinary Kudu. His horns measure 63” x 67” and we believe he is one of the largest in the World. During the process of you reading about what we are doing at WildLife Partners, you most likely read about what has been happening in the exotic game breeding business in Africa over the last 15 years to include a very special Cape Buffalo bull named Horizon. Horizon set a new record at auction back in February of this year when an investor paid $2.8MM for a 25% stake in the bull, valuing the bull at over $11MM, a new world record. The reason for this new record is the fact he’s the largest horned disease free Cape Buffalo in Africa and his offspring sell for as much as $300,000 each. There are also many similar stories of superior genetic Whitetail Deer in Texas and across the United States where some deer have sold for up to $1MM.
While the exotic game breeding business in Texas is not in the same place it is in Africa today, the acquisition of Game Changer is significant in getting us closer. WildLife Partners LLC, who owns Game Changer, is going to use him as our stud bull. Our goal is to significantly increase the value of his offspring. There is an auction in Africa taking place soon that is selling offspring from a Kudu owned by Norman Adami, that is also 67”. Norman is one of the owners of Horizon mentioned above. We plan to use the prices gained from the sale of those offspring to set the prices of Game Changer’s offspring.

Quick update from Brian Gilroy at the WildLife Partners ranch:
One of the biggest benefits to WildLife Partners owning its owning capture and transport team is our ability to select the animals we believe are the most heavy bred. Heavy bred simply means, far along in their pregnancy. We estimate that somewhere around 75% of the animals we have purchased for our first Joint Venture were purchased already bred with many being considered heavy bred. As a result, we are starting to see babies being born including a brand new Blesbok calf and Hog Deer fawn both born in the last two days. This would be a great time to make a visit to the ranch as we are expecting a significant amount of babies to be born in the next month or so.

The health and well-being of our animals is of great importance. In these pictures you will see the WildLife Partners ranch staff medicating some of our Nubian Ibex. This medication is designed to prevent and treat various potential infections.
