An awesome sight to see!
Over the last few weeks, we have been extraordinarily busy with visitors to the ranches from both current and prospective partners. During one of the recent visits with a family from Houston, we rounded a corner to find an Addax had just given birth to a calf. Seeing new babies is always exciting but to see one so fresh it still couldn’t stand up was awesome! Addax were poached essentially to extinction in their native lands, with less than 200 animals remaining, but they are thriving in Texas thanks to profit minded individual conservationists. Today, it’s estimated there are more than 7,000 of these beautiful animals in Texas.
Here are a few of some great shots taken by Dan Verrips the day after we were there.
